Sadovsky arrived in England from Russia in 1885 and probably initially worked for Harris Lebus or one of the other firms in the East End. His first work was English revival furniture in mahogany and walnut. He was later joined by three sons, Ronald, Gerald and Harvey. Ronald, the eldest, went to evening classes to learn technical drawing and furniture design. Gerald went to the USA to study modern production methods and Harvey concentrated on publicity, advertising and marketing. The firm adopted the brand name of Beautility, a combination of beauty and utility, which Harvey created. The production included tables, sideboards and dining chairs.
