1970s Post Modern Chair & Ottoman by Leif Alring and Sidse Werner for CADO of Denmark
A rare 1970s postmodern lounge chair and ottoman designed by Leif Alring and Sidse Werner for CADO, Denmark. Featuring sculptural lacquered frames in a bold red finish paired with deeply cushioned striped upholstery, the design blends Scandinavian modernist restraint with the playful geometric forms that would come to define early postmodern furniture design.
The chair’s reclining silhouette and architectural panel base create a striking visual profile while remaining exceptionally comfortable. Paired with its matching ottoman, the set embodies the experimental spirit of 1970s Danish design — balancing functionalism with bold color and sculptural form.
A highly distinctive and increasingly collectible design that works beautifully in both postmodern and contemporary interiors.
