Bauhaus Style Chrome & Rattan Rocking Chair in the Style of Marcel Breuer, 1970s
A striking 1970s Bauhaus style rocking chair featuring a highly sculptural tubular chrome frame with beautifully exaggerated curves and looping armrests.
The tall backrest and seat combine black timber frames with woven cane panels, providing a warm natural contrast to the polished chrome. The continuous sweeping frame forms both the structure and rockers, giving the chair an almost architectural quality when viewed from the side.
A wonderfully unusual piece of 1970s design with a strong Marcel Breuer influence, combining chrome, cane and timber in a particularly expressive form.
