MID CENTURY BOOKCASE ROOM DIVIDER BY STONEHILL FURNITURE
This mid-century bookcase/room divider was designed by Stonehill of London during the 1960s. This stunning bookcase is a wonderful example of Scandinavian design influence that was prevalent at the time. With plenty of cabinet storage and 3 drawers combined with ample shelving this piece strikes the perfect balance of storage and display space making it perfect for the living room, dining room or office.

MAKER:
Nathan Steinberg arrived in London from Tarnopol, Austria in 1895, aged 13. He worked as an apprentice cabinet maker and in 1910 set up his own business producing bedroom furniture. The company became Stonehill Furniture after the Second World War and a public company in 1964. The main factory was in Angel Factory Colony, Edmonton, north London, with several other factories including a former Co-op factory in Pelaw, Co. Durham. Nathan’s sons, Philip and Maurice Steinberg ran the business until their retirement in the 1980s.
