MID CENTURY DANISH CHINA DISPLAY CABINET BY AVALON YATTON

This vintage China entryway cabinet was produced by Avalon Yatton Furniture.  A neat little storage piece, it is slim in depth making it ideal for an entryway with plenty of storage.

MAKER:
The furniture manufacturer Avalon is a British company based in the town of Yatton, Somerset, and also made furniture under the names of Wake & Dean and Yatton Furniture.

In the past most of the inhabitants of Yatton would have been employed in agriculture. At the time of the Industrial Revolution a furniture factory was established, initially manufacturing church pews and school desks. The successor to this company, Avalon Furniture, produced stylish and popular ‘modern’ furniture during the mid century period and traded successfully for decades, finally closing in 1985.
