MID CENTURY NORWEGIAN TEAK BAR CABINET BY TORBJØRN AFDAL

A beautiful rare vintage bar cabinet 'Baccus' by Torbjørn Afdal for Bruksbo Tegnekontor, designed in 1955 and produced at Mellemstrands Møbelfabrikk, Norway. Made of teak, this dry bar features bottle storage, two drawers, a pull out pouring platform and beautiful glass and steel shelving with a mirror back and lighting that comes on when opened.

MAKER:

Norway’s Torbjørn Afdal started as a designer at Bruksbo Tegnekontor in 1946 and was among the most prolific post-war Norwegian designers. Today Afdal is considered as one of Norway's most famous designers. His furniture was among the collections of The White House and the Japanese Emperor.
