Mid Century Teak 'Cactus' Coat & Hat Rack by Abbess, 1950s

A beautifully sculptural mid-century 'Cactus' coat and hat rack by British manufacturer Abbess, dating to the 1950s.

Crafted from teak, the design features a tall, slender central column with a series of elegantly curved hooks branching out from the upper section, creating its distinctive cactus-inspired silhouette. The gently upturned hooks provide practical storage for coats, hats, and accessories while adding a playful, organic quality to the design.

The rack stands on a sturdy, three-footed wooden base, complementing its clean lines and warm timber tones.

A wonderful example of British mid-century design, combining everyday functionality with sculptural appeal. An elegant addition to an entryway, hallway, or dressing room.
