A beautifully proportioned mid-century gentleman's wardrobe, crafted in richly figured African mahogany and designed to provide exceptional storage within a compact footprint.

The interior is thoughtfully arranged with a full-height hanging compartment alongside three drawers above a shelved cupboard, making it ideal for clothing, linens, or household storage. Raised on a contrasting black plinth base and fitted with the original turned wooden knobs with brass backplates, the cabinet embodies the clean, understated aesthetic of British modern furniture from the 1960s.

Its versatile configuration makes it equally suited for use as a bedroom wardrobe, hall cupboard, or compact storage cabinet where space is at a premium. Combining practical function with timeless mid-century design, it is an elegant addition to both vintage and contemporary interiors. Compact gentleman's wardrobes like this were popular in Britain during the 1960s as efficient, all-in-one storage solutions for smaller homes and apartments.

MAKER:
G Plan is a British furniture brand. It began as a pioneering range of furniture in the United Kingdom produced by E Gomme Ltd of High Wycombe. The success of G Plan led to E Gomme becoming one of the UK's largest furniture manufacturers. From 1943, during World War II, furniture sales were controlled by rationing. The ending of this scheme in December 1952, combined with the 1951 Festival of Britain, led to a pent-up demand for more modern furniture. In 1953, Donald Gomme, the designer at E Gomme, decided to produce a range of modern furniture for the entire house which could be bought piece-by-piece according to budgets. Designs were available for several years so people could collect them slowly. All furniture was marked with a distinctive brand mark.
